Katie Claire grew up in Schenectady, NY.  Due to extremely poor eyesight, her doctor recommended that her mom enroll her in a tap class. It was there that she began dancing at the young age of two.  The moment she attempted her first flap was a truly glorious day.  After her first recital dance, Spunky the Monkey, people came up to her and commented on her very loud singing voice.   Her mom quickly signed her up for the local kid's choir so that the dog would no longer hide under the bed.  Katie's love of comedy grew from watching hours of classic comedy on Nick at Nite.  She would stay up late at night and watch" I Love Lucy", "The Dick Van Dyke Show", and "The Carol Burnett Show". Sometimes she would even change the channel and watch an episode of "In Living Color" (although she wasn't supposed to).

In fourth grade she and her family moved to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. It was here that Katie's love of the theatre grew.  She performed locally at many various community and regional theatres.  Her stage debut was in Caledonia Theatre Company's production of "A Christmas Carol" playing the role of Fan. She was also fortunate to travel to New York City and take workshops with Gregory Hines, Savion Glover, Brenda Bufalino, Bill Irwin, and Jenny Lane.

Katie holds a BFA in Music Theatre from Shenandoah University and an MFA in Movement from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Katie is currently working on various theatre, film, and television projects.
